Throughout his career he’s belonged to many trade organizations and sat on representative counsels for major manufacturers. His goal for ABS is to assist the team in making it the best problem-solving representative firm in the Chicagoland area.

John Goers

John Goers is the Managing Partner for Architectural Building Solutions, Inc. (ABS). He has over 20 years’ experience in commercial roofing and related markets along with over 15 years in both domestic and international business. John is very proud of the reliable and industry leading company that is ABS. Away from ABS, John enjoys spending time with his wife of 23 years and his 2 daughters. John also enjoys playing golf, freshwater activities, and cheering on his favorite sports teams; the Bears and the White Sox.

Mike McMillin

Mike began his roofing career by installing blocking, skylights, and other carpentry work for several large roofing contractors in the Chicagoland area. With over 30 years of experience in the roofing industry, Mike‘s been a manufacturers’ representative with ABS since its inception. He is Program Committee Chairman for the Chicago Roofing Contractors Association and chairs the Education Committee, serving on the board of directors for the past thirteen years. Mike is also on the board of directors for IIBEC and serves on the Department of Financial and Professional Regulations of the State of Illinois Roofing Advisory Board.
Mike holds associate degrees in Fire Science and Construction Management. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends whenever he can, particularly his grandson, Liam.

Daniele Masiak
Sales Representative

Daniele brings over 30 years of experience in the commercial construction industry. Various manufacturing roles including product selection guidance, project management and troubleshooting have allowed her to gain a clear understanding of the needs of a project from the perspective of both the contractor and architect. An earnest desire to be an asset to the team drives Daniele to guide her customers towards the best product solutions and the technical assistance to support those solutions.
In her free time, Daniele loves kayaking on the Fox River, exploring other customs and traditions through travel and spending time with her family.

Adam Petry

Adam brings 17 years of experience in Chicago’s commercial construction market with him to ABS. His diverse background in contracting draws on a broad array of customers, project types and project roles.
His success and personality have produced many long-term relationships (and laughs). The knowledge gained from his time wearing different hats in different seats provides Adam a perspective primed to help people solve problems.
Adam values spending time with his family and their closeness is a source of pride.

Kurt Dietrick

Kurt holds over 12 years of experience in the commercial construction market around the Chicagoland area. In his previous role, Kurt oversaw all aspects of the pre-construction division and managed projects for a local union mechanical contractor. During that time, he estimated, sold, and managed projects with a wide range of applications including federal research facilities, hospitals, educational buildings, pharmaceutical plants, and many others. Not only is Kurt able to form relationships with many contractors and subcontractors, but he is able to cultivate even more partnerships with architects, engineers, and GCs that are beneficial to our clients should they need our assistance in bridging any possible gaps in their projects.
Kurt and his wife enjoy traveling, golfing, and spending time with their two dogs on their days off.

Mike Polonus

Mike Polonus joins ABS as a Commercial Sales Rep, focusing on roofing contractors and distributors. With a strong commercial roofing background, Mike will provide education, technical and sales support, and build valuable partnerships. He excels at tackling on-the-roof challenges and delivering responsible, proven solutions. Mike has hands-on experience in selling and installing various roofing systems, including single-ply, modified bitumen, and roof coatings.
Raised in St. Charles, IL, Mike now resides in South Elgin with his wife Cassie and their daughter Callie. In his free time, Mike enjoys hockey, golf, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.

Brian Harris

Brian joins ABS as a Commercial Sales Rep with over 12 years of experience in various manufacturing industries. In his previous role as Territory Manager at OMG Roofing Products, he covered Illinois and Wisconsin, building strong relationships with contractors, consultants, and distributors. Brian has extensive hands-on experience working on rooftops, assisting contractors with superior productivity, and ensuring top-performing roof systems. His support for commercial roofing contractors included contractor training, job start education, product demos, pull tests, and more.
Brian lives in La Grange, IL, with his wife Liz and their two children. Outside of work, Brian is a passionate Chicago sports fan, especially when it comes to the Bears and Blackhawks. He stays active by playing in a recreational hockey league and golfing, and enjoys spending quality time with his family and friends.

Shannon McGivney
Inside Sales/Customer Service Representative

Over her career, Shannon’s experience has always focused on the customer. Most recently, Shannon was an inside sales, customer service representative for a well-known Wire Rope Distribution company, collaborating with many customers, both end users and designer channels. Prior to that, Shannon spent 28 years in the Gaming Industry. She has a strong, diverse background, delivering valued results by providing customer service in high-energy, high-volume environments and prides herself in her problem-solving abilities and being quick to learn. She is a driven professional with a lighthearted sense of humor. She is excited to join the ABS team and develop her customer relationships and knowledge, while supporting the growth of our team.
Shannon grew up in the southwest suburbs and now lives in the western suburbs with her adorable rescue dog, Karma. She enjoys live music, Horseback riding, finding the best restaurants, any activity that involves being near water, and animal rescue.

Jean Telander
Design & Specifications Manager

Jean comes to ABS with 6 years’ experience working with the Architecture & Design industry to specify beautiful, long-lasting masonry products on their commercial projects. Most notably, Jean worked on many major school districts’ construction projects around the Chicago suburbs, something she takes great pride in after having been a Middle School Math teacher for 5 years. Besides educational buildings, Jean worked on municipal projects, airports, and a variety of other commercial projects. Jean prides herself on not being a “salesy” salesperson, rather she helps her architects and designers choose the best products for their project, even if that means not making the sale.
In her spare time, Jean loves being with her husband, daughter, son and her very closeknit family and friends. Besides her two young children, Jean also cares for her “big kids,” two Great Danes weighing in at 115 lbs. and 140 lbs. respectively.

Zack Hernandez
Commercial Marketing and Sales Coordinator

Zack Hernandez joins ABS as the Commercial Marketing and Sales Coordinator, where he will develop and implement marketing strategies in collaboration with manufacturers, customers, and the sales team. With experience in consulting, real estate, and supply chain, Zack has designed systems for end users, generated new business, and managed SEO, websites, PR, and social media.
Originally from Homer Glen, Zack now lives in Lockport. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, practicing his faith, playing softball, attending concerts, and exploring nature.
